Revit collaboration
Your whole team on the same central model.
We host and administer Autodesk's Revit Server for your firm. No server in the office, no per-user cost to collaborate, and no change to your Revit licences.
Revit 2020–2026 · No per-user cost · Clients on the same infrastructure for 8 years
Revit® and Revit Server® are products of Autodesk, Inc. BIMXcloud is an independent infrastructure provider, not affiliated with or sponsored by Autodesk, Inc.
Working on the same model shouldn't be the day's problem.
Without a collaboration server, teams end up emailing models around, working on copies that went stale hours ago, and losing time reconciling changes nobody asked for.
The usual alternative is standing up a server in the office: Windows Server, a static address, open ports, backups, and someone who answers when a sync fails at eight on a Friday night.
Revit Server solves the first part. We solve the second.
From signing up to working, the same day.

We hand it over running
We configure, secure and monitor the server. You get the access details and the configuration file for your team.
We provision Monday to Friday and weekends, 08:00 to 22:00 Monterrey time. During business hours your server is ready in about an hour; on weekends it can take up to four. If you buy overnight, we start at 08:00 the next day.
Two layers of protection.
Version history
Every time someone synchronises, Revit Server saves a version of the model. Your BIM Manager can return to any of them at any time. If someone broke something on Tuesday, you go back to Tuesday morning's version without calling us.
On every sync · Self-service
Server snapshot
Each day we take a full snapshot of the server and store it on a server independent of yours. If your server failed completely, we restore it to the previous day's state within 4 hours of you telling us, during support hours and at no cost.
Daily · Separate infrastructure
The honest limit: the daily snapshot keeps a single restore point, because the newest overwrites the previous one. In a total server loss you could lose up to 24 hours of work, since the version history lives on the same server. The 4 hours are how long the restore takes; the 24 hours are the work that can be lost. They are not the same figure. If your firm needs several days of history, get in touch and we'll configure it.
Control who gets in, and who stops getting in.
Server access is controlled by a configuration file we install on authorised machines. We maintain two: one for your firm's in-house computers, and one for external collaborators and subcontractors.
When an external collaborator's involvement ends, access for all external users is cut instantly. Your in-house team keeps working without interruption, and you don't have to wait for us to do it during office hours.
Choose by how many people sync at once.
Not by how many people work at the firm. Concurrency is what actually determines performance.

These figures refer to people syncing at the same time, not your total headcount: in practice a 30-person firm generates around 15 simultaneous syncs at its busiest hour. They are a performance recommendation, not a technical limit. Real results depend on the speed and stability of your connection, the size of your models, and how many projects are active. If you're not sure which tier fits, get in touch and we'll review it with you before you buy.
Tier 1
Small studios or a single active project, with moderate simultaneous syncing.
Tier 2
The most common tier. Several projects at once, or a team where 10 to 12 people sync during the same afternoon.
Tier 3
Larger teams, heavy syncing at deadline, or when your IT policy requires infrastructure meeting Autodesk's published minimum.
How it compares to Forma Design Collaboration.
Both options require your Revit licence. The difference is what you pay on top to collaborate, and what you get for it.
| Item | Forma Design Collaboration | BIMXcloud Tier 3 |
|---|---|---|
| Billing model | Per user, per year | Flat monthly fee |
| Cost per user per month | $115 | $26.75 per user at 20 people |
| Central model collaboration | Yes | Yes |
| Version history | Yes | Yes, on every sync |
| Clash detection | Included | No |
| Issue tracking | Included | No |
| Collaboration across separate firms | Built for it | Requires configuring external access |
| Revoking external access | Per user | Instant, for all external users at once |
| Revit versions across the team | Flexible | Same version on a given model |
| Server administration | Autodesk | BIMXcloud |
| Connection dependency | Moderate | High — 100 Mbps per user |
Forma does more. If your firm needs clash detection, issue tracking and coordination across multiple companies inside one platform, it's the better choice and we'll say so plainly.
Forma costs less — and gives you more — while you are under 2 users. From 2 up, our entry plan at $155 a month for the whole firm is already cheaper, and the gap widens with every person you add.
Autodesk list price, $115 per user per month, published on autodesk.com.mx. Forma Design Collaboration was previously called BIM Collaborate Pro. We compare monthly rates with no minimum term on both sides.
What you need on your side.
- Revit 2020 to 2026, with the same version across the team for a given model.
- A connection of 100 Mbps or better per user. This is the single biggest factor in how it feels to use.
- Ports 80 and 808 open to the server. If your corporate firewall blocks them, they'll need allowing.
- The server runs on Windows Server 2022 or 2025 — that part we administer.
- A configuration file on each team computer, which we provide.
If your office has a slow or unstable connection, tell us before you buy. We'd rather say so now than afterwards.

What everyone asks before signing up.
Do I need to buy anything extra from Autodesk?
No. Revit Server is included with your Revit subscription and needs no separate licence or subscription. What you buy from us is the infrastructure and its administration: the server, the connectivity, the monitoring and the support.
Do my users still need their own Revit licence?
Yes, always. Revit Server is collaboration infrastructure, not a Revit licence, and it never replaces one. When we say “no per-user cost”, we mean we don't charge per person to use the server.
Is it alright for a third party to administer the server?
The server is yours, your licences are yours, and your agreement with Autodesk is yours — we are not a party to it. We operate the infrastructure on your behalf, like any IT provider, and we don't develop, resell or license Autodesk software.
How do backups work, and how far back can I go?
There are two layers. Every sync saves a version of the model, which your BIM Manager can return to at any time. On top of that we take a daily snapshot of the whole server on independent infrastructure, which keeps a single restore point: the newest overwrites the previous one.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
The service is prepaid monthly. If we don't receive payment by the due date, the server is suspended. Download your data before that date; if you didn't, write to us and we'll grant a grace period of up to 10 calendar days to retrieve it. Deletion happens from the tenth day onward. We keep the snapshot from the last active day for 30 days, so if you come back within that window we can restore it exactly as you left it.
How quickly is it ready?
During business hours, about an hour from payment confirmation. On weekends it can take up to four hours, and if you buy overnight we start at 08:00 the next day.
Can I start with a single project?
Yes. Many firms start with one project to see how it works for them. There's no forced contract and you can cancel whenever you want.
Is Revit Server a discontinued product?
No. Autodesk ships a new release every year, and we support 2020 through 2026.
Ready to stop administering servers?
Buy online, or tell us how your team works and we'll tell you which tier fits.
No forced contract. If you buy the wrong tier, we'll adjust it.
